Vinted Users Share Frustration About Sizing Changes

Members of the platform have expressed outrage due to a modification that led to products showing incorrect sizing.

The second-hand shopping app has altered its size classifications for female and kids' apparel without notifying all users about the change.

Social Media Response

Countless users and merchants are posting online stating that platform listings now display a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed because of the remapping.

The company said the updated approach better aligns with other platforms.

They have suggested members to examine their items and update the measurements by hand if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction.

Sizing System Updates

Earlier, the sizes had both numerical and alphabetical indicators, for instance S/8 or M/10.

The updated approach includes a letter and a range like S/UK 8-10.

With some products, the sizing has been recategorised - like an L measurement used to be a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.

Member Stories

A fashion influencer, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult".

"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," the way the service now categorizes.

Stephanie Gallen, from Glasgow, explained products she uploaded featuring size 14 markings were displaying on the service as larger sizing 20-22.

"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they may become frustrated," she explained.

Required Changes

A different user, from Derby, explained she became annoyed because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizes on "every single listing".

"This situation is especially annoying, as I'm chronically ill and platform income has been essential after experiencing income reduction," she explained.

Marketplace Information

The platform boasts over 100 million shoppers, comprising 18 million UK members.

It has emerged as a preferred choice versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.

This isn't the first time when a surprising modification within the service has received backlash: previously, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices following member complaints.
